Job description:
Develop control systems to automate processes and machines involved in the manufacturing of corrugated paper‑product machinery. Responsibilities include a wide range of control design and application tasks such as PLC, HMI and motion control programming, development, implementation, system debugging, and providing remote technical support in close collaboration with the U.S. Controls team. The role requires strong ability to read and interpret electrical and control system functions. The candidate will support seamless integration of new products, in‑house developments, and customer‑site machinery by applying effective engineering practices and ensuring high‑quality automation solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop complex electrical engineering and functional controls system architecture and specifications with input from sales personnel, customers, service technicians, and assembly technicians.
Apply ingenuity in programming, hardware/software integration, and system diagnostics to support machine‑based control systems.
Review and approve schematics, assemblies, detailed drawings, and BoM for complex projects.
Develop, prepare, and maintain comprehensive program documentation in areas diagnostics, information systems, data collection, and communication network, protocols
Research and stay current on latest developments concerning system architectures that could be implemented as parts of machine control systems.
Act as a liaison furnish documentation and/or assist in the check‑out, machine installation, and startup of complex mechanical functionality and control system.
Interface directly with customers to identify customer expectations and specifications.
Interface with suppliers to select and develop the best available technical solutions.
Troubleshoot and resolve malfunctions; make recommendations that will improve efficiency or quality of operations.
May participate in set‑up and commissioning of new facilities or upgrading of existing facilities.
Provide guidance in the production of system operation manuals and diagnostic aids for customer and service technician use.
May travel to customer sites to lead or support testing, commissioning, and/or startup of industrial equipment.

Core Automation Skills:
Must be able to competently perform all level 2 industrial automation duties on PLC and HMI
Servo Motion and Stepper Control experienced in PLC‑based mechanical motion calculations
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and logical reasoning skills with a systematic approach to fault diagnosis and optimization. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimum guidance
Mandatory Skills:
PLC Programming: Beckhoff Twincat 2 and Twincat 3
HMI development using Beckhoff Twincat IPCs – Mandatory
GitHub: version control, branching, and collaboration – Mandatory
Experience with OPC servers, tag management, and data structure design – Added Advantage
Proficiency in scripting and database integration – Added Advantage
Exposure to assembly checkout and field commissioning – Added Advantage
Ability to read complex electrical schematics and other drawings – Mandatory
Comprehensive knowledge and experience with electrical control schematics, drawings and industrial network technologies – Mandatory
Awareness on Machine and Manufacturing safety regulations – Added Advantage

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, or Computer Science
Minimum 5-7 years of industrial automation experience
Experience with OEMs in packaging, printing, or converting and machine building division is preferred
Travel:
Willing to travel to Europe and the U.S. for short-term field commissioning or project support
