About this opportunity:
Seeking an experienced Backoffice RAN Engineer with deep Ericsson RAN expertise across 2G, LTE and 5G (NSA & SA). The engineer will manage end-to-end RAN operational tasks, provide technical troubleshooting, own KPI performance issues, lead RCA and stakeholder coordination, and support automation and documentation in a Managed Services environment.
What you will do:
- Manage operational issues (process & tools) for 2G/4G/5G and emerging technologies.
- Perform technical troubleshooting and resolution for RAN network issues, KPI degradations, and customer/VIP complaints.
- Conduct protocol-level analysis and trace analysis (CTR, LogTool, Wireshark) to diagnose problems.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (IP, MPBN, TX, CORE) to resolve network issues and implement fixes.
- Produce RCAs, validate solutions, and ensure effective problem closure.
- Support and drive automation initiatives for operations.
- Prepare, validate, and execute scripts/configurations for planned activities.
- Maintain and update documentation: network architecture, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Participate in knowledge transfer, training, and continuous operational improvements.
- Work in planned 24/7 shifts, including nights.
The skills you bring:
- Engineering degree preferred.
- 6-12 years' experience in RAN engineering with focus on LTE and 5G.
- Hands-on experience with Ericsson RAN equipment (2G/4G/5G SA & NSA).
- Strong understanding of LTE, NSA, SA architectures and RAN use cases, including Cloud RAN fundamentals.
- Deep knowledge of RAN KPIs (accessibility, mobility, throughput, latency, call drop rates) and performance monitoring.
- Protocol-level expertise, E2E call flow understanding, and trace analysis experience.
- Proficiency with trace/packet tools (LogTool, Wireshark).
- Familiarity with 3GPP, IETF standards and telecom node end-to-end connectivity.
- Experience in RCA, change request and trouble ticket processes.
- Ability to perform maintenance, configuration changes, software upgrades and network expansions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
