Leads telecom network quality management and service optimization across mobile core environments. Troubleshoots customer-impacting issues, analyzes KPIs, performs packet capture and end-to-end trace analysis, validates services, and identifies performance bottlenecks. Supports testing, UAT, migrations, deployments, and business-as-usual operations while collaborating on fault prevention. Provides technical guidance to junior engineers and may support critical night or weekend upgrades.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer – Network Performance & Service Optimization Lead to support network quality management and optimize telecom service performance across core network environments. The role involves troubleshooting customer-impacting issues, analyzing network KPIs, supporting service validation, and ensuring high-quality mobile network performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support network quality management and service optimization initiatives
- Analyze critical customer issues and network performance discrepancies
- Lead service validation and testing activities within core network environments.
- Perform end-to-end trace analysis to identify root causes and support issue resolution.
- Monitor and analyze Mobile Core Network KPIs to identify bottlenecks and optimization opportunities
- Conduct packet capture, network auditing, and diagnostic analysis
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on fault analysis and preventive measures
- Support project implementation, UAT, migrations, and BAU activities
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
- Support night/weekend deployments during critical upgrades or migrations when required
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related field
- 7–10 years of experience in telecom core network operations and optimization
- Experience working with Mobile Operators, MVNOs, MNVEs, or telecom vendors
- Strong knowledge of CS Core Network technologies (MSS, MGW, SBC, STP, SMSC, HLR, IVR)
- Good understanding of PS Core Network technologies (SGSN, SGW, PGW, PCRF, DNS, AAA)
- Experience with IMS nodes (CSCF, TAS, MRF, ePDG)
- Strong troubleshooting and network quality assurance skills
- Good understanding of VoLTE, Voice, SMS, and Data call flows
- Hands-on experience with telecom protocols such as SIP, MAP, GTP, SMPP, RTP, Gx, Gy, Ro
- Experience using packet analysis and network tracing tools
- Working knowledge of Jira and Confluence
