We’re looking for a Senior Manager, Data & Valuation to lead a high-impact function within our Integrated Portfolio Planning team, bringing together valuation excellence and robust data foundations to support strategic decisions across Trading, Risk and Finance.
About the role -
This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for portfolio valuation and data governance across our Energy Markets & Development (EMD) portfolio.
You will lead a team of specialists to deliver accurate, automated valuation and position reporting whilst also driving a strong data governance culture across EMD
What you’ll be doing -
Drive portfolio valuation excellence
Deliver accurate, timely daily P&L and mark-to-market valuation across physical and financial positions
Continuously enhance valuation methodologies, processes, and reporting
Partner with Trading and Risk to support trading strategies and portfolio optimisation
Deliver refreshed position reporting
Lead end-to-end electricity and green portfolio position reporting
Ensure integrity, automation, and scalability of reporting dashboards
Provide transparent insights to key stakeholders in Trading, Risk and Finance
Embed data governance and trusted data foundations
Own valuation and position datasets as Data Owner, ensuring strong governance practices
Define and enforce data quality, metadata standards and controls
Drive a culture shift toward data-led decision making across the business
Lead and influence across the business
Lead, coach and develop a team of analysts, fostering technical excellence
Partner with Trading, Risk, Finance and Technology leaders to shape the data roadmap
Influence senior stakeholders to drive alignment on data and valuation strategies
What you’ll bring
Technical expertise
Deep experience in portfolio valuation, risk analytics, and financial instruments within energy or commodity markets
Strong capability in data management, databases, and trading systems (e.g. SQL, Oracle)
Proven track record implementing data governance frameworks and improving data quality
Advanced analytical and modelling skills working with large, complex datasets
Experience driving automation and process improvement
Leadership & stakeholder capability
Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams
Strong communication skills—able to translate complex concepts for senior stakeholders
Track record of influencing across trading, risk, finance, and technology functions
Strategic thinker with a focus on delivering business outcomes and continuous improvement
