Sr. Application Developer - Integrations

Genesys is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sr Application Developer to join our Enterprise Integrations team. The associate will play a crucial role in analyzing, designing, and implementing large complex integration solutions across various business systems using AWS services. This position requires a good understanding of AWS architecture and services, technical acumen, and the ability to contribute as individual contributor in large complex projects and providing technical coaching for employees/teams in their technical area.

Responsibilities:

Design and Develop Integrations:

• Support the design and implementation of real-time and batch integrations using AWS services such as AWS Lambda, API Gateway, S3, SNS, SQS, and others.

• Assist senior developers by providing technical support and troubleshooting issues.

• Contribute to the Agile sprint objectives in the capacity of an individual contributor.

• Participate in code reviews and adhere to best practices and coding standards.

Collaboration and Communication

• Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and assist in translating them into technical specifications.

• Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution

Performance Monitoring and Application Support

• Monitor the performance of integrations and report any issues
• Rectify any such issues reported on live integrations.
• Implement best practices for performance tuning and resource optimization

Documentation

• Contribute to the creation and maintenance of comprehensive documentation for integrations, processes, and best practices.

• Share knowledge and insights with team members to promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Required Skills:

AWS Knowledge:

• Hands on experience with AWS services, particularly API Gateway, Lambda, SQS, SNS, and other related services.
• Understanding of AWS architecture and best practices.

Programming Skills:

• Proficiency in Java and experience with Java frameworks such as Spring Boot or Quarkus.
• Basic knowledge of other programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) is a plus.

Integration Experience:

• o   Experience in supporting the design and implementation of real-time and batch integrations.
• o   Familiarity with RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and event-driven design.

Leadership and Communication:

• o   Good communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
• o   Ability to follow instructions and provide clear updates on tasks.

Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills:

• Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve Technical issues.

DevOps and CI/CD:

• Experience with DevOps practices and tools such as Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automation.

Security Best Practices:

• Understanding of security best practices in cloud environments.
• Experience with implementing security measures and compliance standards.

Agile Methodologies:

• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and tools like Jira (backlog management) and Confluence (for documentation)

Database Management:

• Experience with database technologies such as SQL, NoSQL, and data warehousing solutions.

Continuous Learning:

• Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field.
• 4+ years of experience of similar role.
• Experience in designing and implementing integration solutions using AWS services.
• Good understanding of enterprise integration patterns and best practices.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in AWS services such as AWS Lambda, API Gateway, S3, SNS, SQS, etc.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, SOAP, and other web services.         
• Knowledge of data mapping, ETL processes, and data transformation techniques.
