Job Description
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Senior Storage Administrator located in Chennai
What a typical day looks like:
- To perform full range of storage design, provisioning and support functions on Dell/EMC, NetApp, Pure storage, Cisco MDS directors, Brocade Switches which interface to Windows, VMware, and Linux servers.
- To perform capacity planning, performance monitoring, problems identification, troubleshooting, failure recovery and proactive maintenance.
- Perform SAN changes and trouble-shoot issues on SAN. (Cisco / Brocade)
- To lead and execute in incident, problem, change and release management processes.
- To compile statistics on Availability, Performance, and Utilization for management reporting.
- Report on storage performance and usage
- Scripting experience - write code and automate repeatable processes, REST API, Ansible
- To drive improvements to meet & exceed the SLA.
- To participate and advise on technical and operational issues for new project introductions (NPI)
- To produce and maintain proper SOP documentation.
- To conduct training when required
- Integration with cloud storage technologies
- LEAN methodologies and automation experience
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Local and remote storage replication using Dell/EMC, NetApp and Pure Storage.
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or IT .
- At least 7 year working experience in supporting & managing high-end SAN storage for Enterprise grade Unix and Windows systems in a large Data Center.
- At least 5 years working experience in a large SAN with heterogeneous environment with mixed technologies, Dell/EMC, NetApp, Pure Storage, Brocade and Cisco
- Support experience with Hitachi, HPE or other storage vendors
- Backup experience using Veeam, Netbackup or other solutions
- Experience in VMware/Linux/Windows administration.
- Cloud experience – deploying and administration on AWS or Azure.
- Automating repetitive tasks
- ITIL or equivalent qualifications
- Excel knowledge, i.e. Vlookup, pivot tables, etc
- Nagios Based Monitoring
- Veritas NetBackup supporting Solaris, RedHat Linux, IBM AIX, Windows and VMware platforms
- Oracle RMAN experience
