Core Duties/Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Create miscellaneous payment requests to supplier and/or Federal and state tax authorities.
- Tracking tax payments and refunds, matching to Federal and state tax liabilities.
- Tracking supplier invoice payments.
- Maintain notice log and coordinate all tax-related mail to the rightful recipients.
- Ensure all required on-site tax documents are maintained in folders at 48W.
- Preparation of resale certificates.
- Assist with monthly sales tax compliance.
- Perform administrative tasks related to voluntary disclosure agreements.
- Assist with all sales and use tax audits, including pulling contract data and invoice support as well as needed.
- Preparation of annual W9s.
- Reconcile all tax-related general ledger accounts on a prescribed periodic basis.
- Updating sales and use tax registrations with state and local authorities.
- Handling requests from Auditors and extracting reports from Workday ERP.
- Assist with income tax sales apportionment, e.g., identify destination sales data from non-Workday ERP systems.
- Assist with the creation and maintenance of a tax calendar and Tax-SOP.
- Reconcile monthly OneSource/Avalara reports to the sales tax accrual to ensure reporting accuracy.
- Work with Asset Management teams to ensure accuracy of Fixed Asset records for tax reporting purposes.
Skills, Capabilities and Attributes
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following experience skills and behaviours:
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
- University Qualified and CA/CMA Intermediate or CA/CMA Qualified.
- Financial accountancy experience including US GAAP within multi-national organisation will be an advantage.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
- Overall, 3 to 5 years of experience in US Indirect Tax Area.
- Big 4 audit firm experience a plus.
- Experience with OneSource Indirect Tax Returns and/or Avalara.
- Experience in handling tax audits.
- Work experience in US Sales & Use Tax.
- Knowledge of working in Workday ERP will be an added advantage.
- Must be able to work in US shift as per business requirement.
- Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in financial analysis, including the ability to interpret financial statements, identify trends, and conduct variance analysis.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other financial software applications.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with large volumes of data accurately.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and provide insights.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
