It means showing up for the communities where we live and work. To bring this value to life, the Realtor.com Austin summer intern cohort recently stepped away from their desks for a dedicated day of service with Caritas of Austin. - The day began early at Caritas of Austin’s downtown Community Kitchen, which provides hot, nutritious meals five days a week to individuals facing extreme housing and food insecurity. For our interns, it was an immediate opportunity to dive into hands-on work. Dividing into teams, the cohort spent the morning preparing food for the day: Assembling Pizza’s, mixing fruits, preparing salad and setting up the dining area to ensure a welcoming environment for incoming guests. When the doors opened for the lunch rush, the interns transitioned into front-of-house roles—bussing tables, washing dishes, pouring drinks, and serving meals directly to local community members. It was a rewarding and personally impactful experience.
