Job Description

Purpose of the role

To support business areas with day-to-day processing, reviewing, reporting, trading and issue resolution. 

Accountabilities

  • Support various business areas with day-to-day initiatives including processing, reviewing, reporting, trading, and issue resolution.
  • Collaboration with teams across the bank to align and integrate operational processes.
  • Identification of areas for improvement and providing recommendations in operational processes.
  • Development and implementation of operational procedures and controls to mitigate risks and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Development of reports and presentations on operational performance and communicate findings to internal senior stakeholders.
  • Identification of industry trends and developments to implement best practice in banking operations.
  • Participation in projects and initiatives to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Check work of colleagues within team to meet internal and stakeholder requirements.
  • Provide specialist advice and support pertaining to own work area.

  • Continually develop awareness of the underlying principles and concepts on which the work within the area of responsibility is based, building upon administrative / operational expertise.

  • Communicate sensitive or difficult information to customers in areas related specifically to customer advice or day to day administrative requirements.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders/ customers to identify and address their needs.

Step into the role of Senior analyst where you will work as part of a team accountable for providing world class client service to a diverse client base. The role holder will be responsible for supporting an Operational Function within the Banking & Payments Operations Centre of Excellence.

You may be assessed on key critical skills relevant for success in role such as:

  • Payment processing of operational tasks across the client portfolios.

  • Accountable for the delivery of own work against measures in place to track quality, accuracy and risk.

  • Validation and verification of work produced by others using quality assurance processes.

  • Responsible for identifying and managing exceptions and non-standard activity.

  • Awareness of and adherence to risk and compliance policies and procedures.

  • Identification of breaches and risk events and subsequent root cause analysis.

  • Identify process enhancements to benefit client and team performance.

Desirable skills sets:

  • A strong financial background would be advantageous which preferably would be within payments / Investment operations.

  • Preferably with strong understanding and working knowledge of Avaloq & DM&W.           

  • Process transactions in accordance to approved process and procedures, international regulations and   within pre- agreed service levels and with speed and accuracy.

  • Strong control awareness and understanding of contingency framework.

  • Working knowledge of Payments systems / Investment Operations industry experience.

  • Knowledge about SWIFTS, IBAN, MT103 and MT202 instructions.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communicator.

  • Experience of reviewing and improving processes to enhance client experience.

This role is based in Chennai.
