About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Automation Engineer to lead the transformation of our network operations. You will be responsible for driving the automation of critical network elements, optimizing complex operational workflows, and spearheading software development initiatives to resolve technical debt. You will work within a pod model to deliver scalable, high-availability solutions that enhance resiliency and efficiency across our network infrastructure.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead Network Automation: Design and implement end-to-end automation solutions for network elements, focusing on reducing manual intervention and increasing operational speed.
• Process Optimization: Analyze existing operational bottlenecks and streamline workflows by integrating core systems (KIRKE, AYS, JIRA, ECHO).
• System Integration: Develop robust pipelines to extract, correlate, and visualize data from disparate systems to create unified dashboards and automated reporting tools.
• Technical Leadership: Lead an independent pod, gathering requirements, defining problem statements, and delivering optimized solutions with measurable KPIs.
• Troubleshooting & Resolution: Perform expert-level debugging of complex network and application system issues, applying creativity to develop long-term resolutions.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with external teams (Customer Service, NOC, Engineering) to provide technical assistance and ensure seamless communication during network events and major outages.

What We’re Looking For

• Core Qualifications & Leadership:
  • Bachelor’s degree or 8+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Proven track record of leading independent teams and delivering complex, end-to-end automation solutions.
  • Experience spearheading software development initiatives and actively resolving technical debt.
• Automation & Tooling:
  • Tool Proficiency: Hands-on experience integrating and automating workflows within KIRKE, AYS, JIRA, and ECHO.
  • Software Development: Robust Python programming skills, with a focus on network automation.
  • Frontend Development: Skills in Angular or React to construct observability dashboards and internal network portals.
  • DevOps & Architecture: Familiarity with microservices architectures, REST APIs, Docker, and CI/CD best practices (Git).
• AI & Data Architecture:
  • Demonstrated expertise in engineering AI Agents and utilizing LLM orchestration frameworks (e.g., LlamaIndex, LangChain) for log analysis and workflow automation.
  • Strong comprehension of database systems (PostgreSQL/MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, or Pinecone) to manage metrics and network states.
• Preferred Skills (Even Better):
  • Academic background in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or Electronics.
  • Prior experience working with 4G/5G Core networks.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to keep team members aligned on goals while managing competing, high-level expectations.
