FLSmidth Cement is a leading supplier of engineering, equipment, and service solutions to the cement industry. Our Feeding & Dosing product line is renowned for pioneering dynamic and static weighing products essential to the Cement Industry. We are looking for an experienced Senior Product Specialist to contribute to complex engineering projects and drive product development initiatives within our team.

The Senior Product Specialist will play a crucial role in the engineering function for the Feeding & Dosing product line, handling complex projects from design to implementation. This role requires deep technical expertise and an ability to contribute to value engineering and product standardization efforts. Additionally, you will support team development, sharing your expertise and influencing others to maintain high-quality standards and efficient project delivery.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the quality, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness of engineering packages for the Feeding & Dosing product line.
  • Actively contribute to product line standardization, improvement, and development initiatives (Value Engineering).
  • Participate in research and development efforts, particularly in dynamic and static weighing technologies.
  • Provide technical support to team members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and skills development.
  • Travel as necessary to assist with installations, address equipment issues, and support sales efforts.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to resolve challenges and implement cost-saving measures.
  • Develop and review design standards, specifications, and control procedures.
  • Conduct thorough analyses of customer specifications to ensure all deliverables meet quality standards.
  • Perform and validate complex mechanical calculations and analyses.
  • Promote a culture of safety, ensuring adherence to health and safety protocols.

 

Preferred Qualifications and skills:

  • Preferred master’s degree in mechanical engineering or bachelor’s degree with relevant experience in Feeding & Dosing equipment or a related field is preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, focusing on complex, high-precision products within the Cement or heavy industries.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and engineering design software.
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical engineering standards and codes.
  • Experience with dynamic and static weighing products.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to mentor team members and contribute to a collaborative environment.
