Job Description

Purpose of the role

To support Wholesale Lending with day-to-day processing, reviewing, reporting, trading and issue resolution. 

Accountabilities

  • Support with day-to-day Wholesale Lending initiatives including processing, reviewing, reporting, trading and issue resolution through lending technical expertise.
  • Monitoring the bank’s lending operations to ensure that they are conducted in an efficient and effective manner and comply with relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Collaboration with teams across the bank to align and integrate Wholesale Lending processes.
  • Identification of areas for improvement and providing recommendations for change in Wholesale Lending processes.
  • Development and implementation of Wholesale Lending procedures and controls to mitigate risks and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Development of reports and presentations on Wholesale Lending performance and communicate findings to internal senior stakeholders.
  • Identification of industry trends and developments to implement best practice in Wholesale Lending Services.
  • Participation in projects and initiatives to improve Wholesale Lending efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Act as contact point for stakeholders outside of the immediate function, while building a network of contacts outside team and external to the organisation.

Step into a role of UK Corporate Banking Wholesale Lending - Case Manager at Barclays, where you’ll take responsibility for client service and operational execution task. Wholesale Lending operations involves post sanction fulfilment which includes Preparing Facility, Security Documentation, Ordering and Evaluation Property Valuations, granting fit to lend checks & approvals, drawing down the loan & limit marking, registering and perfecting charge on the collateral. Providing complete Life-Cycle Management and Servicing of the Loan.

To thrive in this role, you will need some previous experience in :

  •  This role is responsible for proactively managing a portfolio of larger business lending cases from submission to drawdown including complex facilities like Term Loan, RCF.

  • Credit Managers, Relationship Directors/Relationship Managers (RDs/MDs) with client base being predominately mid and large corporate names with complex group structures underpinning lending & PSF requirements.

  • Support the end-to-end lending process for the creation and issuance of facility agreements along with drawing / marking of new facilities.

  • Deal with complex and standard requests to agreed levels of accuracy and efficiency using automated or manual systems and equipment

  • Pro-actively driving cases to drawdown to meet client timelines and expectations whilst ensuring all regulatory/internal & legal procedures are adhered to.

  • Proactive collaboration/partnership with key processing areas e.g. credit, product, coverage, servicing etc. to ensure completion of cases.

  • Act as resolution point between relationship teams and processing teams. Own any issues and manage them through to resolution

  • Provide expert support and advice to credit managers and colleagues/Check submissions against sanction to ensure that the Bank’s position is safeguarded.  

  • Support continuous improvement of the operational process and the development of best practice. 

  • Primarily play a role of a Checker and Maker on medium and complex work types supporting business delivery objectives

  • Ensure that Service Level Agreements are met, and operational performance is optimized.

You may be assessed on key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, business acumen, knowledge of Lending operation, Agency loan assignments & Rigour procedures, tools & practices, strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.
